Seven Pounds DVD: My Opinion
The Seven Pounds DVD is awesome. People might not always understand what is going on during the first half of the movie, but it is well worth following Will Smith all of the way through his serious role until the end of the plot. The first-half of the movie is devoted to Will Smith finding seven people who deserve to live.
Through flashback scenes and thought provoking body-part donations to deserving people, the first half of this Will Smith DVD movie tells the story of a man who is haunted by the car crash that he caused to happen while talking on his cell phone. Seven people died in that accident, so seven people had to be found to save to atone for the crash.
During the last half of the movie, it becomes clear that Will Smith isn’t really crazy running around helping people with liver or kidney transplants and that there is a reason for doing these things going on in his mind. At the end of the Seven Pounds DVD, after seven people were saved, Will Smith takes care to preserve his body for medical science to use further, and kills himself in a very unique and unexpected way.
Milk and the World of San Francisco City Politics
 If there was a common problem among most biographical motion pictures, it would be the fact that many of them are little more than a linear, direct timeline of events. Now, some may wonder what is wrong with such an approach. The answer is that a film that is little more than a series of events is dull. Thankfully, this is not the case with the Milk DVD as this film invests a great deal of time presenting and engaging and complex series of events. The Harvey Milk DVD is many things, but linear and boring are not among them.
One reason why the Milk DVD succeeds on this level centers on the fact the film uses the backdrop of city politics to present a great deal of intrigue and twists and turns. Rather than only center on the title character, the film presents a look at how big city politics is operated. From this, the viewer experiences many unique dimensions to the filmmaking that make it such an engaging experience.
The Harvey Milk DVD is first and foremost the tale of the life of the man. But, the man’s life can never be separated from the San Francisco political strife of the 1970’s. The film captures all of this well and this is what makes it such a compelling film.
